NetSpeek 1.8 July 2026 Release Notes

NetSpeek Platform 1.8 Update – July 6, 2026
The release of NetSpeek’s platform version 1.8 focuses on smarter AI-assisted troubleshooting, new device/integration support, and continued security hardening across the platform.
AI Troubleshooting (Lena)
Lena is now more autonomous and more clearly describes how she works through a problem.
- Responses stream in real time and are more consistently structured and easier to follow.
- Improved understanding of your specific rooms and devices when diagnosing an issue.
Device & Room Management
- New visual Room Canvas and device location picker for laying out and connecting devices, including power connections.
- Connect devices across rooms and locations: link a device in one room to a device in another, and move between connected rooms directly on the canvas from the device card.
- This is in part a preliminary exposure of upcoming “infrastructure devices” support, to enable use cases like PDUs and network switches which serve multiple rooms.
- Improved LG display control for more reliable power, volume, and input switching on webOS-compatible hardware.
New and updated device support in this release:
- Displays: LG (improved control mechanisms for power, volume, and input)
- Conferencing: Zoom, Cisco, Poly videoOS, Sennheiser
- Zoom: Broadened and deepened API controls
- Cisco RoomOS: Initial launch of Cisco UC device support, using the xAPI: Cisco RoomOS (xAPI) Integration Guide
- Poly videoOS: NetSpeek now offers HP | Poly customers the ability to integrate via Poly Lens, videoOS, or both in parallel.
- Sennheiser: New device support, and handling of both Sennheiser’s v1 and v2 protocols.
Cisco and Poly videoOS support require version number 1.3.0 of the Edge VM. OVA files generated in the portal interface after the 1.8 platform release will deploy VMs with this functionality in place – previously deployed Edge VMs in the OVA format, running version 1.1.1 or later, will download and automatically update to this new functionality.
Integrations
- Integration compatibility is now version-aware, so the platform can better match the right behavior to each device.
- Logitech Sync: smoother handling of large room/place lists.
Platform Reliability
- Faster startup for device management with reused, well-managed connections.
- Various fixes to reporting accuracy, including date handling and ordering in summaries.
Security & Compliance
- Ongoing security hardening across all services: cross-site scripting and request protections, tightened access controls, and stricter redirect handling.
